Personally Shopping With Baskets
Prerequisites
Before reading on please ensure that you have understood the following topics:
Overview
Shopping baskets allow you to buy products from organisations who are actively selling on the SQUIZZ.com platform. The organisations that you can shop and buy from on the SQUIZZ.com platform is controlled by the personal relationship you have with each organisation, and whether they are allow you to buy products from them.
Some organisations may allow you to view and buy their products without you having to be connected to the organisation directly. This may be known as retail purchasing. Other organisations may require you to connect with them first, then they will assign a customer account to you, that then allows you to access their product list and receive more tailored pricing. This typically occurs if you are a repeat customer or a higher valued customer.
In either case, once you have found a product that you can purchase from an organisation, to purchase a product you will need to add a quantity of the product to a shopping basket, then proceed through the order checkout process. During the order checkout process you can then set key details, including billing and delivery addresses, payment information, confirm your purchase, and submit the order to the selling organisation.
Multi Supplier/Seller Shopping Baskets
For each personal shopping basket you are allowed to add many quantities of each type of product, and have many products added across the same supplying organisation, as well as other selling organisations. This is known as "Multi Supplier/Seller Shopping Baskets". Once you have added one or more products to a shopping basket and have proceeded through the order checkout process, you will be creating separate orders with each selling organisation directly. This is different to many other online marketplaces, since SQUIZZ.com allows you to have direct relationships with the supplying organisations, add see the underlying sales orders being raised with each separate organisation.
Multiple Personal Shopping Baskets
You can create many personal shopping baskets. with each shopping basket holding a different collection of products that you may wish to purchase. This allows you to create separate lists of products based on the different aspects of your life. By default when you sign up to the SQUIZZ.com you will have the following shopping baskets created for you, these are:
- General Personal Items
- Personal Events, Parties and Presents
- Personal Activities, Hobbies, Music and Sport
At any time you can delete, modify or use these original shopping baskets, as well as create new personal shopping baskets.
Controlling The Shopping Basket In Use
You can personally have multiple shopping baskets, only one of these shopping baskets can be set as the default "Basket In Use". This means that when you log into SQUIZZ.com, the basket that will appear within the header bar, as well as be the basket you can add products to when navigate an organisation's product list. By default shopping basket in-use also controls the pricing you see when navigating an organisation's product list, based on the customer accounts that are already being used with that basket. At any time you can switch the basket "in use" from within the Shopping Baskets menu. This is one way you can change the shopping basket that products are being added to.
Note that you can still add products in other shopping baskets. To do so you must navigate to the Basket Detail page of the shopping basket, where you can alter the basket's quantities, products, as well as more products to specific basket using the Basket Quick Add feature.
Pricing Longevity And Repricing Of Shopping Baskets
After a product has been added to basket, the price of the product will be locked in for a period of time controlled by the selling organisation. By default this is set to 24 hours, but it may be as low as 1 hour. Once the pricing has expired, if you then try to adjust the product within the basket, or proceed to the Order Checkout page, the basket's expired products will be re-priced. If no pricing could be found or the product is no longer being sold by the selling organisation to you then it will be removed from the basket. This means that less products could appear during the Order Checkout process at the review stage, or you could be blocked from completing checkout process if no products are in the basket any more. This would only be problem if you leave products in a shopping basket for a longer period of time, and can be avoided if you proceed to checkout with a shoppping basket in a short period of time.

For each shopping basket the following details can be set:
- Basket Name
